Jodok Happacher wins SPG Prize for his doctoral thesis

SPS Award

Jodok Happacher receives an SPG Prize for his outstanding research on individual nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond at low temperatures, which is of significance for quantum sensing.

The Swiss Physical Society (SPG) awards prizes to young physicists for outstanding research conducted early in their careers. In 2025, Jodok Happacher received one of these prestigious SPG awards, sponsored by Sensirion AG, for an outstanding contribution in the field of sensing, detection, and monitoring. The prize recognizes his work on the understanding and control of individual nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond for applications in quantum sensing, carried out in the research group of Professor Patrick Maletinsky.
