The Science Days are an annual science festival that has run every fall at Europa-Park Rust since 2001. More than 90 exhibitors have offered hands-on research and technology there, so children and young people can experiment, watch science shows and get a feel for science and technology. The BQC took part for the first time in the 2026 edition, alongside the Swiss Nanoscience Institute, which has participated since the beginning.
Together we offered a dive into the fascinating world of nanotechnology and quantum physics! Participants could discover the the secrets behind mysterious materials like UV beads and learn how measurement affects light. They learned about how the lotus effect works and how a lamp glows without being connected to a power source. Through exciting hands-on experiments young people experienced how the world changes at the nanometer scale and gain insights into fascinating quantum effects.
